Hello and welcome to my kythings!

I never liked the word “blog,” and the term “debriefing” is a bit too modern. A “kything” is a report that also indicates a “showing” or a “demonstration.” My goal as a philosopher is to substantiate my arguments with facts, verifiable observations, and logical deductions. I also rely on the work of reputable sources whose credibility has stood the test of time.

These kythings cover themes explored in the Ouranian Chronicles™ (OC)—my forthcoming series which I classify as True Fiction. The work’s protagonist is Kayin the Ariole, a man plagued by “borrowed” memories that span some 13,000 years. Kayin’s intellectual abnormality forces him to become a reluctant “witness” to key historical events.

Here my aim is to convey interesting facts, fascinating tidbits, and philosophical reflections related to the OC and Kayin’s adventures, to offer a new perspective on who we are as human beings, how we got to be where we are, and what might lie in store for us next. The OC’s book 1 deals with our past, book 2 with our future, book 3 with our present, and book 4 is beyond time.

Some kythings are Travel Logs. They address the historical, geographical, and geopolitical backgrounds of the series. They account for experiences in the real world and correspond to and reflect the content of Kayin’s “episodic memories”—hence “kythings from the Second World.” In contrast, “First World” kythings offer thought experiments and speculations on the consequences of our actions and beliefs. As Kayin says, “We may have free will, but nary a choice.”
